This site contains information about independence, the constitution, and the three branches of government and is easy and fun for kids to use. Michigan Supreme Court Learning This website contains information on the Michigan Courts of Justice and could be useful to inform teachers and students about the Michigan Courts. The site includes a photo gallery of the supreme court, a link to schedule a tour for your class, and quizzes for kids. We the Civics Kids This website has many resources for teachers including literature lesson plans, reading lists, and unit plans based on State Standards. It also includes some interactive games for kids. Branches of Power This is a informational, free game for students to play about the different powers in the branches of government. This website also has information on physical landforms like volcanoes, and mountains. Fact Monster This website contains loads of information on the countries, natural disasters, and world geography. It would be useful for students and teachers to learn about countries they are not familiar with. For Geography Teachers This website has many resources for teachers to teach geography. It includes links to make games and activities for your classroom. It also has lesson plans and other teaching tools. Scribble States This is a fun game for students to play to learn the shape and capitals of the United States. Students have to connect the dots to form a state and then determine which state it is. Then information, such as the capital, are given about the state. The Big Myth This website allows students to see, hear and read animated tales about creation myths from around the world at site. These myths will certainly help students learn about different cultures from all around the world. |

The site contains videos and fun games for kids. The Council for Economics Education This website is beneficial for teachers. It has lesson plans and assessment ideas for economics. The History Channel The History Channel website has many historical videos that could be used to introduce topics in the classroom. Information is organized by topic making the site easy to navigate. It also has historical news, and historical games for kids. Teaching History This website is very helpful for teachers. It contains many teaching materials including lesson plans, and teaching guides. It also includes reliable history content. Slavery and the Making of America Slavery and the Making of America is a website by PBS. This website is interactive for students to learn about Slavery in America. Students can explore recordings from slaves and primary source documents and learn about the life of a slave. Share My Lesson This website is created by teachers for teachers to share lesson plans and teaching strategies. The website includes all of the Common Core State Standards for reference. It also breaks up teaching resources by grade. TIME for Kids TIME is a fun news article resource for students to keep up to date with current events. It has many kid-friendly articles that are interesting for children to read. Teacher Resources This website for teachers has lesson plans, activities, and print-outs gallore. Pinterest is a loved website that can give creative ideas on just about anything. It is a very helpful website for creative and fun teaching ideas. Many teachers have posted and shared crafts and engaging activities that they have used in their classrooms. Education World This website discusses the benefits of using technology in the classroom. It gives specific ideas of how to better use technology as a teaching tool. The site discusses different computer games that could be beneficial for students. Tech for Teachers As a person that does not know much about technology, this website will be very helpful for me as a teacher. It addresses many questions that teachers may have about educational programs, such as Moodle and Grade book. |
