Welcome! Thanks for Visiting!

My name is Erin Francis. I will be graduating Grand Valley State University with a Elementary Education and Mathematics degree in December 2017. My teaching certificate will allow me to teach General Education grades K-5, and Math Education grades 6-8.

During my time at Grand Valley State University, I have had 4 years of experience in various grade level classrooms. I've taught students as young as Kindergarten, all the way through middle school. I also had the opportunity to teach abroad for 6-weeks within the public schools in Spain. These experiences have shaped me into a well rounded, culturally understanding educator.

My mission is to bring knowledge and experience to children through influential learning that each child can apply in his or her life.

On this website, you can find sample lessons plans, tools I've used in the past and continue to use today, resources, and ideas. Thank you for taking the time to browse my Weebly. If you have any questions, please contact me below!

The College Of Education At Grand Valley
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

EXPERIENCE

I have had continual experience with children throughout my life. I have a strong passion for children and for helping children learn. I just recently finished my Teacher Assisting semester. Half of this semester was spent with 3rd Grade at Pine Island Elementary in Comstock Park, and half at a school in Ourense, Spain teaching English. I have had experience in a Kindergarten/First grade class at the Children Discovery Center in downtown Grand Rapids. I have a few years of tutoring experience, as I have tutored high schoolers in the past, especially with mathematics. I also have had many jobs nannying children in the past summers. I have spent several summers as a camp counselor with elementary and middle school students. Lastly, I have gone on mission trips where the main focus was building relationships with children.
